Powerful Message #1: "Overcomers"
Before the month of January ended, 24 January 2010 to be exact, we were visited by our Senior Pastor Rev. Mark Ritchie with her lovely wife Mary and son Josiah. His message focused on – All Christians are “overcomers”. He reminded us about the story of Israel’s great problem in I Samuel 17 where the Philistines battle against Israel. The Israelites, God's chosen nation, feared and trembled the giant Goliath ready to devour. But David who was just an ordinary shepherd and a young man, stood in the midst of them and in the Name of God defeated Goliath and gave victory to his nation.
Pastor Mark inspired us by saying that “everytime God moves, there is always a price.” He emphasized that we all face many problems such as family issues, financial, physical and spiritual. As we follow the Lord, there will always be “spiritual battles” taking place that each of us should face. Oftentimes, we tend to focus on the problem but we forget to look the problem through God’s eyes. In every situation, God has never been late. The devil knows that God is in control of everything.
We were all inspired knowing that we have the power over satan and his tactics for we are all overcomers. We are more than conquerors and no one can defeat us if God is with us. We should stand up because God is the authority. Let God set up the rules and boundaries in our lives.
The message ended with an altar call where all of us took a step of faith, submitting to our God and took a stand to become overcomers.
Powerful Message #2: Be an encouragement to others
Last 31 January 2010, Rev. Mike Dixon and Dr. Graham Rideal visited San Isidro. Bro. Graham rendered an instrumental through his clarinet and inspired us. Pastor Mike inspired everyone through his message taken from 2 Corinthians 13:11. He highlighted four important points that every believer should do – to rejoice, change ways, encourage each other and live in harmony and peace. He further stressed that we should all be like Joseph or “Barnabas” – the son of encouragement, since people around us need encouragements not only during tough times.
Powerful Message #3: The Blessing Business
Rev. John Mosey preached about the “blessing business” last January 31, 2010 at CFFC-St. James, Batal, Santiago City.
He centered his message on the priesthood of every believer as mentioned in Exodus 19:6, 1 Peter 2:5,9 and Rev. 1:5-6. As priests, we need to do what is written in I Chronicles 23:13, i.e., to sanctify holy things, burn incense before the Lord and give blessings on his name forever. In the blessing business, he added, Christians should be experts in blessing others. We need to bless God like David did (Psalm 134:1), bless each other – go after them, lift them up, pray for them and bear each other’s burdens, bless your family, not taking for grantes is to always bless the believers.
Truly, the service was awesome and we really felt God’s presence as Ptr. John prayed for us and bless us. To you Pastor John and wife Liza, we were truly blessed of having you and thank you for your encouragements!
To all of you, may the Lord bless you a thousand-fold.
