Last April 19 & 20, 2010 we had our first youth retreat and our theme is “Empowering the young ones, fulfilling the vision.”
During the District Conference, last March, at one session our General Superintendent spoke about "Focusing on the young ones" and it had an impact in the hearts of Pastors Marlou and Cristina. And that is why this youth retreat happened. We have prayed and fast for God to move in this event and the result was great. Many were empowered and became on fire for God. I remember one of the young people who was a former Unitarian church member said "It is my first time to experience God's presence." Now she is attending in our church in Ilagan. It is great how God touches the lives of the young people. Almost all the young people who attended the retreat are actively involve in our cell group and are helping in various ministries of the church. To God be the glory.
Next year we are looking forward to have another youth retreat and this time, in a BIGGER PLACE. Whooo! :D oh by the way, we held our youth retreat at church and we only accommodated 38 young people including 9 leaders and the registration fee is 30 pesos. Thanks to all who have supported us. The adults in our church who believe in us.
Please continue to pray for us. God is really doing something great here and we believe that young people have a big role in our world today. :D God Bless
