HELGA MOSEY CHILDREN’S HOME

It is hard to believe another year has gone by. We thanked the Lord for the things He has done in the Children’s Home. We are very pleased and it is so exciting to see the “new look” of the Home and very thankful to the Lord because He’s been our PROVIDER. So many times the Lord has helped us through, has answered our prayers and gave us strength anew. When down and tired, we strengthen ourselves and regain our joy by putting all our faith in Jesus alone. We retreat into His heart-that safe place under his wings. We have been encouraged by all the people who have prayed and extended their continues support in the Home all through these years. We continue to be deeply moved and grateful for their generosity and for the interest so many have shown in becoming involved with us. We are truly blessed!

We presently have 18 children in the Home, 8 boys and 10 girls. A full house and what a lively bunch they are! Full of potentials and mischieves. We appreciate very much all the 7 aunties who have given themselves sacrificially in order to see the children grow and develop. They continue to love all the children despite their backgrounds, behaviors and capabilities.

At this time, our children have not been so well. They are suffering from pneumonia, asthma, cough, colds and high fever. They have been to the hospital and under medications now. Please pray for them.

We are so happy that Ryan Corpuz, one of our children who had been adopted through international adoption, is really doing well. He is settled and seems very happy with his new family. He is now trying to communicate with his parents in Italian.

We have our devotions every Thursday with all the aunties. Ma’am Mary, our Executive Director in the Home, leads the group. This is the time when we pray for each other, with the children and for any prayer requests. It is hard sometimes to concentrate and focus in prayer because of the children around but this is not a hindrance or excuse not to meet together in prayer, to study God’s word and be encouraged with each other. We studied and finished the Old Testament and now we are studying a book called “I’M NOT GOOD ENOUGH…..and other lies women tell themselves” by Sharon Jones. These are some of the topics :

1. I am not good enough
2. I am a failure
3. I am worthless
4. I can’t forgive myself
5. God is punishing me.

I’M NOT GOOD ENOUGH is one of the biggest lies the devil gets us to believe about ourselves. Remember, we can do anything through Christ who gives us strength! Jesus is concerned with every part of our life and He wants to destroy the lies and replace it with truth. We do not have to worry about not being good enough – we just have to be obedient (Eph 2:10).

The children and staff had a lovely Christmas party. All the children received beautiful presents. We were so blessed that Ptr. Mark has a gift for shopping(if money is available, no problem)!!!! He was able to get all the presents for our children. Thank you Ptr. Mark and a big thank you to all the people who remembered us and have sent their greetings and gifts especially to the Strachan family.

Please pray for all our children for God’s protection.

Please pray for a solution to our children. Some of them have been hard to place out and be returned to their respective families.

Pray also that God will continue to provide our daily needs. It has been very tough last year but we have seen God’s faithfulness and He has been our true EBENEZER – our help in the challenges of life!

Please pray also for all the staff for their good health, patience and strength everyday. Pray for our influence into the lives of all the children in our care.

We put our trust in the Lord this 2010. We are so excited for this new year. There are many blessings and challenges ahead.

Many of the things we need can wait but the children cannot. Now is the time their bones are being formed, their blood is being made and their senses are being developed. To Him, we cannot answer “tomorrow”; their name is “today”..

Starting the New Year Right... Cornerstone San Isidro Updates

Starting the New Year Right!

The year 2009 was indeed a great year for Cornerstone Church San Isidro! The remarkable God’s provision of a church building is the most memorable and inspiring one.

The New Cornerstone - San Isidro Worship Center

Before the year ended, we have had three great speakers. Sister Faith of Cornerstone Singapore encouraged us to go on “no matter what happens” and have a heart of a prayerful servant pervently asking, knocking and seeking for God's divine intervention last 13 December 2009. Bro. David Strachan was our Christmas service speaker on 20 December 2009 who elaborated on what the shepherds did in order to bring the good news to the people around them. He challenged the members to witness for the Lord. And on 27th December, Ptr. Nestor Domingo emphasized that everyone should prepare for the coming New Year. Here are some of the glimpses:

Eating Together after the service

Last 10 January 2010, a heart-warming and revitalizing service ignited all the members of CCSI from start to finish! The Sunday school topic was so encouraging focused on the eternal destination of believers – heaven. It’s nice to see that all members were able to offer praise, dance and worship to the Lord during the Sunday service. The message Ptr. Adonis brought is simply “starting the new year right”, expecting greater things that will take place in the lives of all members…outpouring of God’s blessings, miracles after miracles, victories over trials and new unforgettable experiences as we all look forward to the “Great Awakening”.

After the service, a notable step was made when the reorganization of youth, women and men’s ministries for 2010 took place. New sets of officers were elected. Plans were also brought up and discussed.

Men's Ministry plans for various activities

Women's Ministry reorganizes its new set of officers

Youth Ministry holds an election of officers for 2010

As we all set for 2010, it is our prayer that all of us will humbly serve the Lord the best that we can. How about you?

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that
your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

One Thing

While preparing for our music practice last week, I was listening to a song and the first verse caught my attention. Here are the lyrics of the song and I have downloaded the song from You Tube:

ONE THING

One thing I desire
One thing I seek
To gaze upon Your beauty
Your Majesty

God of my salvation
Lifter of my head
Teach me how to live
O Lord Your righteousness

So I pray to You
So I pray to You

Lord Your Name
Is higher than the heavens
Lord Your Name
Is higher that all created things
Higher than hope
Higher than dreams
The Name of the Lord

In the day of trouble
You cover me
In the secret place of refuge
Lord, I will sing

I will seek Your face
Call upon your Name Jesus
And all I want is You Jesus, Jesus

All around the world, Christians have one thing in common. We all experience troubles in different forms. Moreover, we can learn from David the man after God’s own heart, he was a man that has been chased by troubles (either it was self-inflicted or not). We can read on through Psalms how he overcame those troublesome days. He knew that God is his refuge, the present help in time of needs. He sought God’s face above all because he knew that God was his hiding place.

Sometimes we go on through life’s circumstances without seeking God’s face. We can read in the bible that there were kings of Israel that went to fought against their enemies and sought not God’s face instead they sought the help of the kings of the heathen nation. The result was sad because they were eventually given out to captivity. I have experienced in my life when I have not sought God’s face and devised my own way out of the troubles I was in and the result was frustrating. I have learned that I was just depriving myself on the beauty and pleasure of beholding God’s beauty and majesty, and that while beholding His Majesty have already passed through the “tunnel” without so many struggles. It has been my desire that I could learn as David to hide in God’s beauty and holiness. Here is a Psalm that David wrote, praying that as we read this we will learn more of the art of yielding ourselves to God and behold His beauty and majesty.

PSALMS 27

1 ¶ A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evildoers assail me, uttering slanders against me, my adversaries and foes, they shall stumble and fall.
3 Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.
4 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent, he will set me high upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD.
7 ¶ Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud, be gracious to me and answer me!
8 Thou hast said, "Seek ye my face." My heart says to thee, "Thy face, LORD, do I seek."
9 Hide not thy face from me. Turn not thy servant away in anger, thou who hast been my help. Cast me not off, forsake me not, O God of my salvation!
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me up.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.
12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence.
13 I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!
14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, wait for the LORD!

OPEN DOORS OF OPPORTUNITIES AT POLICE HQS.

LAST MONDAY (January 4, 2010), I WAS GIVEN THE PRIVILEGE TO SPEAK BEFORE THE UNIFORMED POLICEMEN AT SANTIAGO CITY POLICE OFFICE AFTER THE FLAG RAISING CEREMONY, MADE POSSIBLE THRU AN INVITATION BY POLICE SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT REYNALDO A SINAON, Ph.D., THE CITY DIRECTOR OF SANTIAGO CITY POLICE OFFICE. THIS WAS DURING THEIR 16th PNP ETHICS DAY CELEBRATION WITH THE THEME: “STRONG MORAL FOUNDATION: THE KEY TO GENUINE PNP TRANSFORMATION”. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT THEY ALLOWED A CORNERSTONE PASTOR TO SPEAK IN THEIR REGULAR QUARTERLY MORAL RECOVERY PROGRAM AND I BELIEVE THIS IS A RESULT OF OUR STREET PASTORS MINISTRY AND THE PROPHECY OVER THE PHILIPPINES OF DR. LANCE WALLNAU LAST OCTOBER 30, 2010 IN SINGAPORE WHICH PARTLY STATES: ...“THE GOVERNMENTAL ANOINTING IS BEGINNING TO COME UPON YOU (PHILS.) RIGHT NOW. THERE WILL BE A FRESH ACCESS SAYS THE LORD, TO POLITICAL STRUCTURES AND CORRUPTION IS ABOUT TO BE BROKEN OVER THE NATION”. MORE THAN FIFTY(50) UNIFORMED POLICE PERSONNEL ACCEPTED AND SURRENDERED THEIR LIVES TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST DURING THAT OCCASION, AN AMAZING AND WONDERFUL GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE AT THE START OF THE YEAR 2010 FOR THE POLICEMEN. IT IS THE FIRST OF MANY GOOD AND AMAZING THINGS TO COME. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE UNIFORMED OFFICERS AND POLICEMEN OF SANTIAGO CITY AND THROUGH HIS GRACE & MERCY, MAKE TRANSFORMATION HAPPEN IN THEIR LIVES BY THE POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD! WE THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR UNCEASING PRAYERS "THAT NONE SHOULD PERISH"

Ministry in Echague!

Hello everyone!

It is the 1st month of 2010 and lots of exciting things happened in the past year. One is the new church being plant at Echague, just 20 minutes drive from Sefton Village. The church is 2 months old now and we praise the Lord for His favor and faithfulness. We managed to find a place of worship for free! It is an old house but good enough to accommodate us. The Lord also provided chairs for us to use!
Thanks to all those who helped us financially in starting this work. We really appreciate your giving, your prayers, and your partnership in this work. Please continue to pray for us and the ministry in Echague.

Here are some of the kids being taught by Maryjane in the kids ministry.

Cornerstone Church Sinili Christmas Party

We, at Cornerstone Church Sinili, greets you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Last Dec 20,2009, we celebrated our Christmas party at the Sinili Community Church with the theme “Reaching out this Christmas to build a Christian Community”. The service was great and there were more than 200 children and adults who attended the service. Some of the barangay officials also came to the service and participated in the games. Rev. Lorenz Salazar, the Dean of Sefton Bible training Center, was the Guest Speaker. He encouraged the people to support the barangay officials to do things for the betterment of the community.
After the service, lot of fun and games for the children, adults and young people were facilitated by the program organizers. Snacks were also served. Bro. Rommel Tejada organized the celebration and all the things needed were amazingly provided by the Lord.
To all our friends and all the people who helped us financially, our deepest thanks.
The Lord bless you!

This year 2010, we expect greater things to happen from the Lord. We are praying for a greater harvest in Sinili, that every family will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Please pray for us also, that God will always strengthen us and encourage us to do the ministry.

Praise the Lord!!!

Powerhouse@School Partnership

Our Team

Powerhouse @ School (P@S) Partnership is the extension of Powerhouse Kids Club. The ministry is focused on reaching out to the children for them to know God and have a deep relationship with Him. Although its title is Powerhouse @ School, its concept is not like the PHKC. It is more on giving lectures about Jesus Christ and teaching of dances and songs. Every Friday at 1pm, the P@S team goes to Rizal Elementary School to teach the children about Jesus Christ. This ministry aims to usher the children to Jesus Christ by showing God's love to them for them to also love God with all their heart, with all their soul and with all their strength, have a holy fear to the Lord and walk with Him.
Last November 27, 2009, the Bolton Team visited Rizal Elementary School. One of the members of the Team is Roberto from Italy. He is a funny guy and we really enjoyed his company. They taught us a new song, an Italian praise song… “Allelu, Allelu, Allelu Allelujah Gloria Al Senior”. The team really enjoyed the Powerhouse at School(P@S).

The Bolton Team from UK joined the celebration and they were being introduced by Gillian Saunders. The team, composed of English and Italians, worked with us in handling the whole event. Since the celebration is for the children, we had face painting, singing, dancing, storytelling, memory verse and lot of fun and games. Toys were given as prizes.
